  • Do you carry insurance?

Absolutely! I’m excited to let you know that I carry errors and omissions insurance to ensure both your protection and mine!

  • Do I need to sign a contract?

A service contract is essential, but let's call it and Engagement Letter because that sounds less intimidating! This is a must-have, as it’s required by my professional insurance.   • What are bookkeeper Accreditations ?

While I admire other bookkeepers showcasing their accreditations I see those organizations as primarily focused on profit. Sure, you pay to be a 'member' and fork out big bucks for courses that Intuit provides for free. After reviewing their websites and certification processes it’s clear to me that these accolades can give clients a misleading sense of security. Trustworthiness comes from hard work, continuous training, and a proven record of integrity. To really assess a bookkeeper’s reliability, look for proof of errors and omissions insurance, ensure a solid contract is in place for accountability, ask for references and/or a copy of their most recent background check, and work with a platform like QuickBooks Online that promotes honesty and accuracy.

  • Why is my quoted price different from your standard pricing listed?

I truly believe that a one-size-fits-all approach just doesn't cut it in my businesses! Every client has a unique situation, and that’s why I think pricing should reflect those individual needs. It wouldn’t be fair to charge a flat fee when some clients require different services. For example, if you need a bookkeeper for payroll but another client doesn’t, why should they pay the same? Or if you only have two bank accounts to manage while someone else has six, it just makes sense to adjust the fees accordingly! I share base pricing to give potential clients a glimpse of what to expect before diving in—transparency is key! I’m all about creating those connections and ensuring clients feel valued right from the start!

  • If you only work virtually, how will I get you all of my receipts and bank statements?

This is where ShareFile comes in! Together, we'll craft a fantastic plan to keep your receipts organized—whether it's daily, weekly, or monthly. If you haven't set up a system yet, I highly recommend scanning each paper receipt and saving it in a dedicated folder to share with me through ShareFile. As I dive into your documentation and match it with your transactions, I'll have a few questions, and I'll provide you with a handy spreadsheet to make clarifications a breeze! Sometimes, bank statements may be accessible through QBO links, but if they're, don’t worry—just reach out to your bank credit card company to request a view-only login for me. Plus, we’ll have regular phone or Zoom calls to discuss your finances tailored to your unique needs!
